Wooden Tea Boxes Wholesale: Compartments, Branding and Pack-Out
Define tea format, compartment sizes, product contact, lid visibility and retail packaging for custom wooden tea boxes.
Specify a wooden tea box around its tea format: sealed sachets, bags, tins or a mixed set. Define compartment capacity, finger access, lid presentation and the packed unit. Treat direct contact with loose tea as a separate intended-use and documentation question, not an assumption about decorative packaging.
Fit the real contents
Measure the largest filled package, not only an empty tea bag or an online dimension. If several flavors share the box, define the count per compartment and the order in which the customer sees them. Leave practical finger space for removal. A divider may look elegant yet waste too much capacity if it is made without a contents mock-up.
Ask whether the tea will be in sealed primary packaging. If any product is intended to touch the wooden interior directly, discuss the applicable food-contact requirements for the destination market and request documentation for the exact material and finish. A decorative box should not be described as food-safe simply because it holds packaged tea.
Presentation details
Decide whether the lid is solid, windowed, sliding or hinged. A window can display the assortment but needs its own protection and appearance standard. Plan where the logo goes when the box is opened and displayed. If there is a printed flavor card, confirm its size and how it is held in place.
What the buyer should approve
Request a filled physical sample with the real tea packaging, divider layout, logo and final retail sleeve or label. Check opening, access and stability. Document the number of tea units per box, the box’s outer dimensions, individual packaging and master-carton quantity. The quote should clarify whether tea contents are excluded from the supplier’s scope.
Details to settle before requesting a quote
| Buyer decision | Information to provide |
|---|---|
| Contents | Filled sachets or tins, count per compartment and product contact scope. |
| Layout | Divider plan, access space, lid type and flavor-card placement. |
| Supply scope | Whether the supplier provides empty boxes or assembles buyer-supplied contents. |
Can compartment sizes be based on an empty sachet?
Use filled retail sachets, including folded seams, and test the intended count. Empty packaging may underestimate space. Check that shoppers can remove a sachet and that dividers stay aligned when a compartment is partly empty.
